Oral histories; transcription REMARKS: This interview is with Mame Krewson Mattoon and takes place in her home in Drain, Oregon on May 30, 1979. The interviewer is Valerie Sonnenberg. Also present at this interview is Maureen Levins, Mrs. Mattoon's daughter. Mame Krewson was born June 11, 1894. She came to Drain in 1906 at the age of 12 and lived with her grandparents. Mrs. Mattoon tells about her family history. Her grandfather was John Wesley Krewson who had donation land claim in Drain. Mame Mattoon is a very lively character and she has spiced this interview with some wonderfully colorful stories. |
