Oral histories; transcription REMARKS: Taped interview with Edgar Phillip Blondell at his home in Myrtle Creek, Or., on August 1, 1970. Mr. Blondell is in his nineties, recently lost his wife, is very slow of speech and sometimes his mind wanders, but he has given some very pertinent information. He tells how his father's family came to California around the Horn and how his grandfather and grandfather's brother used to play on the ship. He tells about herding cattle in California. It was his job to keep them out on the pasture to fatten them for market. His mother's family homesteaded around the Canyonville, Myrtle Creek area. He tells some very interesting stories. |
