3. reprint AUTHOR:Fred Lockley REMARKS:Reminiscence recorded by Fred Lockley, and published ca. 1925. Benjamin Franklin Bonney was born in Illinois, and his family emigrated to California in 1845-6. He describes his family's trip North to Oregon in 1846, including stops in the Rogue River valley and in the Umpqua River valley. His route apparently followed the same one followed by the Scott-Applegate Trail party. - reprint
