REMARKS: This is an interview with Harold McKay. It takes place on July 11, 1978 in the home of Mr. McKay near Wilbur. Also present is Edith McKay, Harold's wife. The interviewer is Star Eatherington.
Mr. McKay was born in Garden Valley. When he was five years old, he moved to the Wolbur area. He recalls waht Wilbur looked like when he was a child and the activities the citizens engaged in the church that was there, the box socials, the parties, and the work. He talks about the many fires and the Wilbur Academy and his teachers and his school days. Later on he went to pharmacy school and opened up a drugstore and pharmacy in Roseburg. He tlks about the drug industry in the late teens and early twenties in the Roseburg area and the type o prescriptions that were used and the practices of pharamacies at that time.
