REMARKS:One article and two book reviews, located via an Internet search on 17 June 1997. The Alta Vista index was searched for combinations of the words "Prohibition" and "immigrant*" or "Foreigner*" [truncated keywords].; These items were located as part of a search for information about any anti-foreign or anti-emmigrant motivations associated with the Prohibition movement. One of the best sources for such information appears to be the book, _City of Dust_, a history of the cement company town of Ilasco, Missouri [three miles from Hannibal, Missouri]. The reviewer of this book refers specifically to the involvement of local industrialists in anti-saloon (Prohibition) activities.
