REMARKS:Clyde Hausmann lived in Cuddback, California [in Humboldt County], at least between ca. 1890 and 1912. He was a bird-egg collector, a popular pastime in late Victorian society.; This collection contains the original labels from his collection of birds' eggs, which collection was donated to the Douglas County Museum by Mrs. Raymond L. Johnson [Mary Porter Johnson]. There are also two  letters to Hausmann from suppliers of eggs and natural-history specimens, concerning orders and shipments of eggs.; This manuscript collection is stored in a folder in the Halon Room manuscript file.
