REMARKS:Copies of materials concerning Moses Harris, a trapper with the American Fur Company in 1830-50. These materials include photocopies of catalog cards and annotations to selected letters from the Missouri Historical Society [as well as photocopies of papers from that Society's collections concerning Harris]; a document, 'Moses "Black" Harris', by Dorsey Griffin [copyright 1993]; a listing of occurrences of the name 'Moses Harris' from a typed index; and a transcription of 1946 newspaper articles concerning the naming of the Applegate Trail. This last item, titled 'A Documentation of the History of the Naming of the Southern Route of the Oregon Trail and teh centennial Celebration Held in Klamath County in 1946', was prepared by Arlie H. Holt.
