REMARKS:Scrapbook chiefly containing scripts for short radio announcements about various aspects of Douglas County history. Inside the front cover is a clipping of a letter apparently published in a dry-cleaning or general business trade magazine. Stella Spencer explained in the letter that she included advertisement for "germ-free" cleaning at her business, along with "about ten minutes to give a description of some interesting fact...." concerning Douglas County history.; Stella McElhinny Spencer was co-owner of Imperial Cleaners in Roseburg, and one of the founders of the local chapter of the Business and Professional Women's organization.; The scrapbook includes a printed memorial to Stella Spencer by the Business and Professional Women's Club. The memorial states that she "was a charter member of Roseburg BPWC - a continuous loyal member, since its chartering in 1924.
