CREATOR:Rolstyn D. Bridges
REMARKS:5 notebooks of photocopied typescript, bound in red board binders and kept in large Hollinger box on the Research Library balcony. Volume 5 of these notebooks is a photocopy of a scrapbook of George J. Stearns. Notebook 1 was missing from the set on 4 February 1994.; Rolstyn D. Bridges, Sr. [1891-1972], was a native of Oakland, Oregon. These notebooks are rough notes that he intended to compile into a history of the Oakland area, but the work was never finished. At one time, his files of background materials as well as his notebooks were stored at the Douglas County Museum. No deed or receipt was ever prepared for these materials, however, and the files were returned to the family upon the death of Rolstyn D. Bridges, Sr. A photocopy of his notebooks was permitted for the Research Library for consultation only - no quotations are permitted from them.; While all of the Bridges materials were at the Museum, they were indexed into the card file maintained at that time. Materials in the Bridges Collection were indexed on cards with green lines across their tops. Citations to file drawers from those index cards refer to materials that are no longer on the premises of the Douglas County Museum.; The Bridges notebooks are restricted for research use: permission does not include quotation in any publication whatsoever.
