REMARKS:George Kohlhagen (ca. 1865-1944) purchased the Cass Street Market in 1891 and operated a butcher shop in Roseburg from that time until his death. This collection of invoices, letters, and miscellaneous materials was collected by his daughter, Florence Kohlhagen McHenry, to show representative businesses in Roseburg in the 1920's throgh the 1940's. The collection also includes some letters to George Kohlhagen in 1925 from the Fish Commission of Oregon, concerning the amount and price of fresh fish sold in Kohlhagen's meat market. One item included in the 'Miscellaneous documents' folder is a mimeographed copy of The Benson Bugle, newspaper/newsletter for Benson School.
