REMARKS: This is an interview with Ellen Kenny. It takes places August 23. 1978 in her home neaar Glide Oregon. The interviewer is Star Eatherington.
Mrs. Kenny is 88 years old and tells wonderful stories about how it was to grow up in Roseburg in the early days. She talks about some stories and businesses and where they were and about a house that was moved from Winston to Roseburg. She used to play the piano at an opera house in Roseburg. She talks about her mother and father and their lives and her sister and her sister had a tumor in her stomach. She talks about the start of Knudtson Jewelry which was really started by her father. She talks about China Sam and his life. During the interview she often expresses quite well her feelings about being old and how that effects one.
