REMARKS:Collection of newspapers describing events commonly called the "Brumfield Murder" in Roseburg, 1921. Dr. R.M. Brumfield, a dentist, killed William Dennis Russell in July 1921, and made it appear as though he [Brumfield] had been the murder victim. Dr. Brumfield was apprehended in Canada, brought back to Roseburg for trial, and convicted of murder. He hanged himself in prison before he could be executed.; The newspapers in this collection are in very poor condition.
