REMARKS:One [1] photocopy of a menu for 1918 Thanksgiving dinner at the Pacific Spruce Division. The Pacific Spruce Division was organized by the United States Army in World War I to manufacture military aircraft in the Pacific Northwest. This menu is from the Vancouver, Washington, Barracks of the 25th Spruce Squadron.; An attached copy of part of a newspaper clipping from the Army Times dated 29 November 1972, refers to the Spruce Division's 1918 menu, and the name of Capt. Addison B. Carrol is underlined in red ink. The article states that Captain Carrol found the menu in the personal effects of Charles F. Hahn, a Private in the Spruce Squadron. Private Charles F. Hahn is listed on the roster of officers and men that is included in the menu.
