REMARKS:"The following Oral History with Ted Montgomery was taken by Ella Mae Young for the Douglas County Museum's Oral History Program. The interview was taken with Ted while we were driving in the car to Glendale and through the Cow Creek Canyon to Riddle. Some time was spent walking the railroad yard at Glendale and talking to Southern Pacific employees. A description of the yard was taken at that time. A reference is made to the paper. The 'paper' is a listing of all railroad stations, bridges over major rivers, spurs, sidings, turn tables and a major slide site on the Cow Creek occurring on February 14, 1890. This was compiled by myself with the sue of trainmaster maps and old train schedules and assistance from the Southern Pacific in Roseburg and Medford. We are discussing and confirming identification of these sites as we travel...This interview was made to better understand the oepration of the railroad line in southern Douglas County."
