REMARKS:This collection includes a copy of a memorial resolution issued by Roseburg's Laurel Lodge of Freemasons on the death of Thomas Smith "oldest member, with one exception" of the Lodge. The resolution was mailed to Helen Smith, Albany, Oregon, from Roseburg on 7 April 1910.; This collection also includes various receipts issued to Thomas Smith between 1867 and 1881 in Roseburg. One document is titled, "Receipt for Exchange", and was issued by H.C. Stanton on 8 June 1869 as a Bill of Exchange [the equivalent of a money order] for the local Wells Fargo office. This receipt is for $310.50.; One of the receipts is dated 30 May 1881, and is for purchase of Lot Number 18, Block Number 6, in "the Cemetery Grounds of Laurel Lodge". This is the older portion of Roseburg Memorial Gardens, commonly called the Roseburg Masonic Cemetery.; A separate, clear plastic envelope contains copies of 3 photographs of Thomas Smith [2 photos] and Arethusa Emmeline Smith [also called Lynn Smith], Mrs. Thomas Smith.
