REMARKS:Edwin Weaver (1848-1938) came to Oregon as a child in 1853 and was a prominent resident of the Myrtle Creek area. He was apprenticed to a blacksmith in Portland and returned to Douglas County, where he started a blacksmith shop shortly after his marriage in 1875. Mr. Weaver was also a large-scale property owner and farmer, and was elected County Commissioner in 1923.
