REMARKS:Papers of George W. Rapp. George Rapp was proprietor of a livery stable [later auto dealership] and secretary of the Maccabees, a national fraternal organization with a chapter in Roseburg. The Maccabees constructed a building at Cass and Pine Street, and George Rapp retained a number of receipts, bills, letters, and financial reports from the beginning of the Maccabees' Building [ca. 1908].; George Rapp also acted as administrator for the estates of various individuals. Papers included in this collection [in separate folders] are for the estates of Henry Woodward {who died at Rapp's house ca. 1917], poet and writer, and Sam Fearn, an Umpqua [Yoncalla] Indian.; Separate folders are marked for George Rapp papers, for the Woodward Estate, and for the Fearn Estate. Papers relating to the Maccabees comprise 3 file folders [ca. 250 pieces].; An envelope labeled "George Rapp - Ephemera" contains tickets for the Roseburg-Myrtle Point-Marshfield Auto Stage Line, the Roseburg-Myrtle Point-Marshfield Stage Line, a baggage check for the Southern Pacific, and miscellaneous postal covers.
