REMARKS: Interview of Merle Hargis by Ella Mae Young. Mr. Hargis worked in the early 1930's foro the Umpqua National Forest as a mule-skinner and a packer. He first worked for the Steamboat District in the summer months and later for the Diamond Lake District.
