REMARKS:Land sale instrument signed by H.J. MInthorn, President of The Oregon Land Company. One of the witnesses' signatures is "Bert C. Hoover", who became U.S. President Herbert C. Hoover. Hoover worked in the offices of his uncle, H.J. Minthorn, until he entered Stanford University in 1891.; This item was transferred to the Hoover-Minthorne House in January 1997, because it was out of scope of the Douglas County Museum's collections and it was appropriate to the collections of the Hoover-Minthorne House.
