|Object Name||ledger, daybook|
|Scope & Content||
REMARKS:Undated, incomplete, and unidentified account book, probably belonging to George Kohlhagen [this artifact was part of a gift of Florence Kohlhagen McHenry]. The transactions are primarily in the form of a cash journal, although selected ledger accounts appear in the latter half of the recorded portion of the book [more than half of the book is unused]. These purchases of livestock might have been for Kohlhagen's Economy Meat Market, located in Roseburg, or for his Mont Alto Ranch, located on the North Umpqua River near Glide. Some transactions [jackets, pencils, etc.] are not for livestock, but they might have been for either Kohlhagen enterprise.
