REMARKS: This is an interview with Quincy Brown. It takes place on September 25, 1978 at the home of Mr. Brown's daughter, Mrs. Herman in Roseburg, OR. The interviewer is Star Eatherington.
In the tape Mr. Brown talks about his family genealogy. He is from the Canon Family which homesteaded, or he got land grants up in the Dixonville area and the Brown family which also got land grants in the Dixonville area. They were sheep farmers among other things. Mr. Brown talks about the neighbors in his area when he was growing up, what it was like when he was a child, what Roseburg was like in the early days wheneer he would get into Roseburg. He talks about a few things that he did during his life. He used to work on the high lines for the electric company wen they first came into the area. He is just full of many many old stories and antidotes. It is aa very pleasant tape.
